Five Filipino Films will be screened in the 30th Tokyo International Film Festival

FIVE films from the Philippines will be screened at the 30th Tokyo International Film Festival in Japan. Two out of five films are included in Asian Future section (Ang Larawan, Tu Pug Imatuy), another two for The Japan Foundation Asia Center Presents CROSSCUT ASIA section (Kristo, Kakabakaba Ka Ba?), and one for World Focus section (Underground).

Tu Pug Imatuy (The Right to Kill, Arnel Arbi Barbarona, Asian Future Section)

 

Kristo (HF Yambao, Crosscut Asia #4)

 

Pailalim (Underground, Daniel R. Palacio, World Focus)

 

Kakabakaba Ka Ba? (Will Your Heart Beat Faster?, Mike De Leon, Crosscut Asia #4)

 

Last year, Paolo Balisteros won Best Actor for his role as a Transgender woman in the movie, Die Beautiful, and this same movie won the Audience Award. Also, Mikhail Red‘s Birdshot won Best Asian Future Film Award.

30th Tokyo International Film Festival will start from October 25th until November 3. According to the official website, the schedule of the event will be released in October.
