Vince Tañada as Juan Luna’s alter ego in his latest musical “Obra ni Juan”

WHAT makes Juan Luna tick? That’s what we’re going to find out in this musical play, “Obra ni Juan”. The story revolves on the life and achievements of Juan Luna, a well-known figure in Filipino fine arts, and early Filipino revolution during the Spanish colonization. It was written and directed by Philippine Stagers Foundation’ founder, Atty. Vince Tañada.

Vince is no stranger in the world of musical theater. When he was young, he received his training abroad. When he went back to the Philippines from New York, he started his acting stint in CCP under Lou Velosofor the play Hiblang Abo which eventually earned him a nomination in Gawad CCP as Best Actor.

For the past few years, he received many awards and nominations in different award giving bodies, such as Aliw Awards and Broadway World Awards. Most of his notable plays he directed are Joe: A Filipino RockssicalCory ng EDSABonifacio: Isang SarsuelaFilipinas 1941, and many more.

Aside from Vince, Obra ni Juan was also top billed by Patric Libao as Juan LunaAlso starring in this play are Chin Ortega, Johnrey Rivas, Jomar Bautista, Cindy Liper, JP Lopez, Kenneth Sadsad, Rutchel Leonor, and Adelle Ibarrientos.

This February 2018, there will be more than 20 shows in several cities in Mindanao, including Iligan City, Cagayan de Oro, Malaybalay, Tangub City and Surigao. The show starts from February 12 to 23.
