Last Saturday, March 24, media, and ordinary citizens witnessed the launch of two anti-illegal drug campaign: Barangay Anti-Drug Anti-Crime (BADAC) and Durugin ang Droga (DAD). It was held at West Triangle Barangay Hall, Quezon City.
According to DILG’s USec. Martin Diño, DAD and BADAC will be the instrument to educate the people about illegal drugs. “42,000 barangays. Definitely, kami ang mangunguna sa laban kontra droga kasama ang ating mga artista. Kasama ang ating simbahan. Kasama ang ating NGO. Hindi na puwedeng nanonood lang ang mga barangay…” He said.
Aside from USec. Diño, celebrities and government officials participated in the said campaign, including DAD Chairman Dinkydoo J. Clarion, Cong. Vincent “Bingbong” Crisologo, Cong. Edwin Uy, Mayor Ando Cumigad, Aileen Papin, Atty. Vic Casauay, Atty.Nap Galit, Atty. Zaldy Balbin, Chairman Ronnie Ricketts, Chairman Mel Perez Tadeo, Barangay Chairman Jeff P. Campaña, Board Member Florita Santos, Dra. Rose Nolasco, Jackie Aquino, Alma Concepcion, Jenny Fajardo, Rhene Imperial, Singapore’s Sweetheart Tori Garcia and many more.
DAD and BADAC’s mission is to fight the distribution of illegal drugs nationwide, and educate people about the harmful risk of misusing illegal substances that can jeopardize their health, the safety of their love ones, and their bright future. They will having a nationwide tour, and visit more than 42,000 barangays.
