DESPITE of the fact that we haven’t met in person, host-commercial model CJ Reyes greeted me with a smile on his face during the Prestige Uncover 2019 event held at the Vikings Venue in SM Mall of Asia. He was the host of the said event.

We’ve been friends on Facebook for a long time, but this is the first time I saw him in person.

After the event, I talked to him through chat, and asked him questions related to his flourishing career as a host, actor, and model.

SNI: How are you, CJ? Can you tell me more about yourself?

CJ: I’m CJ Reyes. I’m a host, actor and a commercial model.

SNI: When did you start your career in hosting, acting, and modeling?

CJ: I started when I was 8 doing TV commercials, and some TV shows. Until now po, I still do TV commercials and some appearances in various TV shows. I started hosting naman last 2012. Then naging full time na po ako sa pagho-host ng weddings, debuts, corporate shows, brand launch, at awards night ng mga malalaking companies.

SNI: How long do you do this?

CJ: 12 years na po, pero mas active ako sa events and advertising industry.

SNI: What do you prefer: hosting, acting or hosting?

CJ: As of now, hosting po. Passion ko po talaga ang pagsasalita since I was young. However, ang acting ay love ko pa rin kaya kung may mga magandang pong roles ay ina-accept ko naman po.

SNI: Any upcoming projects?

CJ: I have an upcoming commercial for a fast food company. Hindi pa pinapalabas pero malapit na po.

SNI: Who are your favorite host or actor that you want to work with?

CJ: Sa host po dito sa Pilipinas, si Luis Manzano and Robi Domingo. Sa female po naman, si Toni Gonzaga and Alex Gonzaga.

CJ Reyes appeared in many commercials both in the Philippines and abroad, such as Good Day Kopi, Pizza Hut, Nestle Drumstick, KFC, Rite Med, Datu Puti, Rexona, and more. He also appeared in movies and teleserye, such as I Love You. Thank You, Maalaala Mo Kaya, and Be Careful with My Heart.

He’s very in demand when it comes to hosting in a huge event like the recent Prestige Uncover 2019, SM Street Food Festival, 2017 Catex Awards, Globe at Home ng Bayan, PureGold, TNT Tropa Trip, Oppo, and more.

He has an online magazine show titled “KwentuJuan” which features different stories of the Filipino people.
