PPP 2

By June, five (5) more films will complete the PPP line-up giving the film production companies enough time to submit their finished films or films in post-production until May 31, 2019.

They have buried the hatchet. Smoked the peace pipe. And Christian gave his yes, after Direk Perci talked to Kuya Boy (Abunda) in their intention to have him co-star with Paolo and Martin in “The Panti Sisters”.

They had a falling out for just a while. Now, Christian is so rarin’ to do the movie where they play gay brothers whose father is dying and summons all of them to say that whoever can give him a grandchild will inherit a huge “pamana”. And yes, their family name is Panti.

According to Direk Perci, it was his partner Direk Jun (Lana) whp from out of the blue thought of the title.

“Basta lang daw lumabas sa isip niya. Nagulat nga ako when he blurted it out. Sabi ko pa nga alangan namang Panti Brothers amg gamitin namin. ‘Yun sana ang sagot ko kung may nagtaning why the title. Pero when we were in HongKong recently sa Film Market, nag-survey na kami from people na hindi taga-rito. Gusto naman nila. They didn’t even ask kung ano ba spelling or what.”

THE PANTI SISTERS

A dream project, alright.

FDCP Chair and CEO Liza Diño is ecstatic to have these films roll.

“Iba-ibang stories. Different genres. Pasok sa millenials. Kami ng anak kong si Amara eh fans ng Ben & Ben. Imagine ‘yung songs nila pasok in one movie. LSS ka talaga. May sexy and daring. Na sigurado namang magugustuhan ng audience. Kasi, naglagay kami ng special student price for the tickets. Kaya they can afford it. P180 sa Manila and P130 sa probinsya.”

No Parade this time but the most-awaited awards night will happen where together with Chair Liza the members of the screening and selection committee will have Jose Javier Reyes and Carlitos Siguion Reyna (directors), Lee Meily (Director of Photography) and Manet Dayrit (Film Editor).

For the third time, let’s make “Pista ng Pelikulang Pilipino” an event to reckon with!
