THE “P” TALKS
BY: Pilar Mateo
“FEELENNIAL“. A portmanteau of “feeling millenials”.
A movie about middle-aged individuals who feel and act like millennials. The adorable titos and titas around us. They are who will stumble into one misadventure after another as they try to adopt the lifestyle of the younger generation.
Ai-Ai delas Alas is Madame Bato-Bato, a rich single Mom who has everything she needs except the attention of her only son Nico (actor-model Arvic Tan). In one of her feelennial activities-online dating, she meets Chito (Bayani Agnayani‘s character), a rich bachelor who recently won a huge sum via lotto jackpot.
Meeting that turns into a flurry of mishaps and misadventures pits their characters into funny, yet thought-provoking situations on how romance and family dynamic has changed into today’s society.
Concert Queen Pops Fernandez is behind the project with a few of her close friends as investors and has partnered with Cignal Entertainment.
Has Pops turned her back on acting?
“When I was doing the concert bit, from the very start, it was my Mom (former actress Dulce Santos Lucban) who produced almost all of my concerts. Now, gusto niya magpa-beauty na lang.
So, I wantes to continue her legacy kaya I am using DSL Productions pa rin.
“As far as acting is concerned, hindi naman sa ayaw ko na. In fact my good friend and our director Rechie del Carmen made me have a special appearance in the movie. As well as Martin (Nievera) as himself. So, siguro in the future, if we get to have a script na hindi ko bibitawan at ako mismo ang gagawa, why not?”
“The title was coined nung marinig ko ang isang friend ko say it. We were in an airport lounge. Tapos sabi niya, “Naku, eto na ang mga feelennials.” So, naglalaru-laro na siya sa isip ko and I told direk about it. Actually, nagpi-pitch na kami ng story that time. Story sana ng dalawang magkaibigang babae. Hindi puwede ‘yung isasama namin kay Ai Ai kaya sabi ko bakit hibdi na lang gawing guy. So, Bayani Agbayani came into the picture. Alam naman niya na hindi siya ang first choice.”
When the mic was handed to Bayani, his being a part of the President’s entourage to Japan was opened. Which he answered off mic.
“Nagbigay po kami ng entertainment sa ating nga kababayan. So, parang ‘yun na po ang bayad. Isinama ko po ang Misis ko na si LenLen pero kami po ang bumili o nagbayad sa ticket niya na Economy. ‘Yun lang po ‘yun.”
Bayani and Ai Ai shared that they have been bosom friends for a very long time already so it was not hard to take on their characters finding their love on the internet.
And a young group of stars and production people worked with then whose millennial habits have somewhat imbibed as well- Nar Cabico as Dua; Ina Feleo as Tahoma; Sofia delas Alas as Sophia; Skelly Skelly as Dope; Nicole Donesa as Cambria; Jelai Andres as Aerial; Micah Muñoz as Shanti; Avic Tan as Nico; and Raffy Roque as Efril.
With special partisipation are pops, Martin and Paolo Ballesteros.
Feelennials in real life, Ai Ai with four grown ups and Bayani has four millennial daughters, they very well understood why they do the things they do today. Are they #shookt?
Definitely, the whole family will enjoy watching this movie as it opens on June 19, 2019.
Get the feels of a romantic comedy with a good laugh and kilig feeling with this light hearted feel-good first venture of the Concert Queen in sharing a project on the big screen.
