WCOPA OFFICER Raymond Gorospe shares this to the whole world:

IT’S again the time of the year when the Philippines competes against 70
countries.

From 3,000 applicants who auditioned last October – November 2018, 400 passed but only 106 (singers, dancers, instrumentalists, models, magicians) successfully completed the rigorous requirements and training.

It is with great pleasure and excitement that we present to our nation the delegates for this year’s competition at The 23rd Annual World Championships of Performing Arts or WCOPA.

WCOPA is the only “World Talent Olympics” and is held annually in and around Hollywood, California, U.S.A. Homegrown Filipino Talents are given the chance to participate in this global competition through Dancing, Singing, Modeling, Instrumentals, Acting and Variety Arts.

Since the Philippines participated in 2005, we have been able to produce several World Champions, JED MADELA (solo vocalist) 2005, the Cercado or Golayan Sisters/Mica a.k.a. 4th Power (group vocalist) and Jonalyn Viray in 2006, Reymond Sajor (solo vocalist) and Aria Clemente (solo vocalist) in 2007, Catherine Loria (solo vocalist) in 2008, Rhap Salazar (solo vocalist) in 2009, Marielle Corpuz (solo vocalist) 2010, Iana Dela Torre (solo vocalist jr.), Beverly Caimen (solo vocalist) and Laarni Lozada (solo vocalist) in 2013, Loyd Montebon (solo vocalist jr.) and Extreme Dancers (dance group) in 2014, Y-fi (vocal group) in 2015, Junior New Systems (dance group) in 2016, Nhikzy Calma (solo dance jr.) and Cristiani Rebada (solo vocalist) in 2017. 4 delegates were given scholarships by various agencies in Hollywood LAST 2017:

Renz Mareon Fernando Amirul from Tawi-Tawi, Philippines…. a $10,000 per year Tuition Award at the THE NEW YORK FILM ACADEMY… towards a Long Term Acting or Musical Theater Program.

Spark Britaña Lobingco I and Gerald Roquero Superio from Iloilo City, Philippines…. for 30 days of unlimited classes at the MILLENNIUM DANCE COMPLEX

Kelly Guanco Garcia from Laguna, Philippines…for a Professional Career Development Consultation and International Artist Development with songwriter Shele Sondheim

The following are the benefits to the contestants:

  1. EDUCATION thru WCOPA Bootcamps and Workshops by mentors, coaches and instructors of big named Hollywood performing artists;
  2. Gaining INTERNATIONAL EXPERIENCE and obtaining SELF-CONFIDENCE performing in a World Stage witnessed by over 50 countries;
  3. CAREER DEVELOPMENT thru “Go Sees” where qualified contestants gets to meet Casting Directors, International Talent Scouts and A & R’s of US based music record labels.
  4. Luring away our Filipino youth/ talents from DESTRUCTIVE VICES.
  5. PROMOTE the Philippines to the world by showing the world how BEAUTIFUL and TALENTED the Filipino people are. MAKING A GOOD NAME FOR FILIPINOS AROUND THE WORLD.

Last July 8 National Director Gerry Mercado and Creative Director Annie Tajanlangit Mercado and WCOPA officers handed over the official Philippine jackets of this year’s official Philippine delegates. At Samsung Hall in SM Aura.

Jed Madela, 4th Power of UK X factor, Junior New System from America’s Got Talent and Asia’s Got Talent and 5th Gen performed too together with other graduates .

This year’s event wouldn’t be a success without the generous friends like Sm, Secosana, Okada Manila and PAL and some friend from the US that will be providing food and drinks to our delegates.

As we all once said.. we will no longer be performing for ourselves but for our
Country 🇵🇭and our People!

Please support our Filipino talents. For more details please check our website for more information on WCOPA, you may log on www.wcopa.com, the official WCOPA website.
