STARTING September 9, 2019, a new series which will teach the values of love, forgiveness and acceptance to the viewers will touch the hearts of the audience.

“PAMILYA KO”, ABS-CBN’s newest daytime series will tackle issues that the modern Filipino families face-infidelity, tragedy, sibling rivalry as well as the forces that bind them together.

This is the story of Chico (JM de Guzman), his parents Fernan (Joey Marquez) and Luzviminda (Sylvia Sanchez) and the rest of the Mabunga siblings-Beri (Kiko Estrada), Apol (Kid Yambao), Persi (Jairus Aquino), Peachy (Maris Racal), Lemon (Kira Balinger), Cherry (Mutya Orquia), and Pongky (Raikko Mateo)-all navigating the complex issues that arise even among the most loving families.

An old family tragedy. Living away from family. Building a connection. A revelation that will shake off the family. An affair that will create chaos. A strengthened friendship with Betty (Arci Muñoz) and a romance with Pia (Alyssa Muhlach).

Not to be missed roles are that of Irma adlawan’s and Rosanna Roces.

Raymund Ocampo directs the Mel Salvador and a pool of writers tearjerker.

As the trailer was being played, muffled sobs filled the Dolphy Theater.

As far as being a “nanay” is concerned, Sylvia has played different characters. But here, she says, she is a wife and a mother of eight.

In real life, as someone blessed with a happy home and a happy life, she shares that, “Ang sikreto talaga sa magandang buhay para maging successful, para maging okay ang lahat, ang buhay, respeto at pagmamahal sa magulang natin.

She let everyone on a secret that in the distant past, she and Joey could have been an item.

“Nagkasama na kami sa ilang projects. Eh, kung makakalusot lang naman kung may pagkakataon. Eh, ang bilis ko, sumisigaw agad ako ng “Alma!” Kung naging kami noon, baka hiwalay na kami ngayon. But am thankful na nagtuloy ang friendship. Kaya ang ganda ng kemistri namin here as husband and wife.”

And admittedly, Joey said he could have fallen for the mestiza Ibyang of her time.

The whole cast have established a camaraderie that keeps them going every taping day.

Is JM really that close to Sylvia and family now, especially her daughter Ria Atayde?

“Matagal ko na kilala si JM. Yes, parang family na siya sa amin.”

Arci and JM extends their real life friendship in their characters in the movie. But don’t ask Arci about her recent ex, Anthony. She bursts into uncontrollable tears.

Mutya, as shared by colleague Ogie Diaz, started young. And those days, for Mutya to do avery dramatic scene, they had to show her that they are strangling her Mom to get her to cry.

“Pinagbubutihan ko na po ngayon. Hindi na sumasama si Mama sa set. Nasa labas na lang siya. Pero, mabilid na po ako umiyak ngayon.”

Osang confirmed that her partner now (Blessie) was who she really wanted to be with even before she became a part of the biz.

And this was the portion in the presscon that most everyone had a good laugh!

The scenes we shall see very soon are like what happens in a regular household. The day-to-day routine with twists and turns and tweaks in-between.

Love. Forgiveness. Challenges. Family. Friendships.

The operative words.

Brace yourselves. As you might see yourself and your family in the Mabunga lives. This is their own kind of life in a “fruit salad” home!
