Kuya Dick… and 2020’s Next Flicks!

BY: Pilar Mateo

WHETHER HE admits it or not, the nightly serye, “One of The Baes” is Roderick Paulate‘s turf in GMA-7.

Even if people are pushing the love team of Rita Daniela and Ken Chan, the night is not complete if there are no scenes that has Kuya Dick in it!

While many are curious to know about the issues surrounding Rita (Not the great actress Gomez, nor Avila), like her allegedly diva attitude, Kuya Dick has nice words for his co-star.

“She’s very professional. Ginagawa naman ang trabaho niya. Hindi ko naman alam ‘yang mga ganyan-ganyan. Sa set, she’s okay naman. There are times, kahit sino naman, makikita mo naman kung pagod at sagad na ang tao. I experience that, too. Pero ako, kahit pagod gagawin ko what is required of me sa work ko.”

Enjoying TV work now, after a fulltime career in politics, Kuya Dick shared that in 2020, two movie projects are already in the pipeline for him.

“Wala pa namang title. The projects have been offered. Pinaga-aralan pa. Nagbato lang ng idea sa amin. Kaya ginagawa na nila ang script now. Which is subject pa for my approval. Yes, it will be collaborative. So, kung magawa na ‘yan By February or March, shoot na.”

For the now, as he enjoys his character in “One of the Baes”, Kuya Dick is thankful to all his supporters.

He also appreciates the respect that GMA-7 has been giving to him.

“Yung maibalik lang the style that I’ve been most comfortable with, malaking bagay. kasi, may mga nagsasabi sa akin na talagang hinahanap ng tao. At sa trabaho, you set aside your personal feelings.

He admitted that even un life, one has to get that balance.

In His time. In the future, ang gusto ko pa gawin is to produce. A movie. Not directing. Mahirap. The captain is the last to abandon the ship. Mabigat ang responsibilidad.”

His heart. On personal matters.

“Hindi ko pa rin alam. Though, yes, I am friends with my exes. Wala namang ilangan.

Kuya Dick, has his own brand of comedy. That won’t be taken away from him. which has endeared him to his audience-from being a childstar to the Kuya Dick we know now.
